Assasin’s Creed 2 DLC Discussion
By Matt Calamia
A hot topic this past week or so has been the decision of Ubisoft to charge for their Assasin’s Creed 2 DLC, due to the fact that they spilled the beans on it being part of the core game that they left out. That has left fans out there wanting the DLC- priced at a modest $5- to be free.

People, you have to understand that almost all DLC (probably with the exception of the GTA, and maybe Fallout) is just part of the game left out due to time constraints. Not very often will a game company start from scratch on DLC. It’s just part of the game that was cut from the retail version. Other companies have stated this time and time again. You need to get over it.
Be greatful that DLC is around, because without it, so much content that game developers wanted to include in your favorite games would be lost forever. DLC extends the life of a game in more ways than ever before.
And lets be honest, the main point of DLC is not to keep the player coming back for more great stuff. The point of it is mainly to prevent a player from trading in their copy of a certain game after the measly seven hours of single-player are completed. They do this because companies, other than the retailer (i.e. Game Stop), don’t make a dime off of used game sales.
And finally, for $5, stop complaining. If you really love the game, like many people do in Assasin’s Creed’s case, buy the DLC. Would you rather drop the money on a Big Mac or on content that would have never saw the light of day 10 years ago?
I concur. I hear the DLC is pretty great too. ACII is my favorite PS3 game, and I suppose 360 game, so I will be getting this ASAP.

Thanks man. I hope you like the site, and come back often.
Love the site. Adding it to my fellow bloggers section of my site
I can’t see why people would complain about this DLC. Like you said it is cheaper than most DLC. Plus it was obvious that it was taken out of the game since they are earlier memory blocks.
I’m going to get it this weekend. But I’m a little bummed that it doesn’t offer any new achievements like most DLC does.
Thanks for the kind words Steph. We’re hoping to get a review up in the coming days for the DLC.
Hey nice blog and nice post, I like it. Keep it up!
Fantastic blog! I’ll probably be citing some of this info in my next speech.
